My thoughts on the Obama “The Life Of Julia” picture book slide show

May 6, 2012 in Humor, Politics

Just my thoughts on the Obama cradle to grave picture book slide show. Comments are in italics.

Here’s the link for “The Life Of Julia” picture book slide show.

If you’re a Safari browser user you will be wondering if Obama himself is the creator of the slide show Try it and you’ll know what I’m talking about.

Every page leads off with “Under President Obama”. What’s up with the “Under” part. Oh that’s right he’s above all of us freedom loving American people. We do know he is the smartest person in the world, now don’t we.

Is this made for adults or for six year old children?

  • Age 3: The Head Start program.

I grew up before there was Head Start and I don’t recall there being a problem in Kindergarten learning how to draw a picture for the mom and dad or taking a nap.

  • Age 17: Race to the Top program.

Never new schools or teachers needed this kind of incentive to do their jobs. What is their job these days? Isn’t it to give our children the basic education like history, math. reading science, etc? Also isn’t their favorite saying “It’s for the children”?

  • Age 18: American Opportunity Tax Credit. Tax credit for course materials like books, supplies and equipment.

How about implementing a flat tax so everybody pays the same percentage whether you make $10,000 or $100,000,000. And of course a major overhaul of the tax code.

And Pell Grants.

Nothing like free money, what ever happened to working your way through collage? And why isn’t Obama condemning the higher education institutions for gouging the students with the ever increasing tuition rates?

  • Age 22: Stays under parents’ coverage until she turns 26.

Never knew there were so many sons and daughters under the age of 26 dieing from not being able to to obtain medical care or paying off medical bills for the rest of their lives before Obamacare (Health care reform to the Obama supporters).

  • Age 23: Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act.

I guess 6 months isn’t enough time to know whether you feel you are being underpaid. I guess he doesn’t think women are that smart.

  • Age 25: Capped income-based federal student loan payments and he kept interest rates low.

Translation: I need the student vote.

And on the interest rates. Here we see the “He” thing again, we all know it’s all him in control of this part don’t we. Wink, wink.

  • Age 27: Thanks to Obamacare.

Yep, she doesn’t have to worry about her birth control and preventive care. Now she can focus on being a web designer. Wow, just wow.

  • Age 31: More thanks to Obamacare (Health care reform to the Obama supporters). Julia is pregnant.

Good thing she had tax payer funded birth control so she could wait for the right time in her life to have a child. I wonder if she got married (to a man) first?

  • Age 37: Obama’s investments in education and programs like Race to the Top. Zachary (her son) starts kindergarten.

We are seeing here in Wisconsin that there are ways to get the educational system to be more efficient through the public employee teachers contributing more toward there health insurance and pension among other things.

  • Age 42: Small Business Administration loan. And Obama’s tax cuts for small businesses.

There are all kinds of options to get financing for a small business if you have a good business plan and experience in the industry.

And on the tax cuts. Julia better not be too successful and make a lot of money. If she’s real successful he’ll either tax her out of the country or out of her business.

  • Age 65: Medicare. Julia enrolls in medicare.

If they don’t reform it there won’t be any Medicare. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to see that coming.

  • Age 67: Retirement. Julia get’s to retire after years of contributing to Social Security and receives monthly benefits that help her retire comfortably, without worrying that she’ll run out of savings

Again without reform this is just dreaming.

Final thoughts:

I obliviously forgot to buy a pair of the rose colored glasses these people are wearing.

And for my last comment actually it’s a question. I would just like to know who is going to pay for all this? That’s right, the people like you and me, the people who actually pay taxes.
